Love is in the Air

Recently I have been wandering around my house a lot more often and realized that I finally have some time to spare in order to get crafty before I'm swamped by studying for finals. In order to gain some inspiration for my latest creation, I scoured my varied sources of challenge blogs and stumbled upon Inkspirational's Purple Colour Challenge. Just as the name suggests, I had to incorporate purple into my designs, and I decided to also incorporate the second element of the challenge by allowing my card to focus around the theme of love. To me there is nothing in nature that screams love more than pairs of birds, and as such, I depicted two birds flying in unison as they equally support a sign with the word love emblazoned on it. Glean whatever symbolism you'd like from that description. My card also happens to coincide with Fairytale Challenge's Springs & Wings/ Feathers & Wings challenge as birds are quite often known for their ability to take flight due to the advantage of wings.

Even in its simplicity this has suddenly become one of my favorite cards. In order to create the sky and grass look I simply utilized markers and sponges in order to attain the desired effect, and then used a Stampin' Up bird punch for the two birds. I also had some string leftover from another project which I used as "rope". Hope you enjoy!

Flutter Over There

Today has been a day of firsts. Not first in the usual way, but as in the first time for a long time. Today is the first time I have written on this blog for over three years. Wow, actually typing that makes me realize how much I've neglected this little space of the internet carved out just for me. Another first is the fact that today was the start of the first weekend without having an obscene amount of homework to complete by Monday which is definitely a plus. Now onto the actual first of the day. Today is the day I launched my Etsy site NoelleCorner! I originally intended for it to be called NoellesCorner, but due to an apparent lack of originality on my part, that name was already taken. My store is comprised of homemade cards, knit goods, and eventually any little idea that comes into my head that I feel is worthy enough to sell. So I am extremely excited to be looking after my own business, and of course making money by doing something I love.
To top off my blog post I've decided to show one of the cards for sale on my store. This is a thank you card with a shaker on front in which I used various beads inside. Other than that the card sort of speaks for itself. Hopefully I'll be back soon.

Just Add Tearing/ Distressing

Well I'm in the card making groove again so I started to check out some card making challenges and just happened to find myself at Just Add Ink. Over there I noticed that the most recent challenge is Just Add Tearing or Distressing. So I thought to myself: "This is THE perfect challenge for me". So, here's what I came up with, ENJOY!!!

As you can see I decided to go with the tearing part of the challenge and decided to sponge the torn edges to give a little something extra. Hope you liked it and see ya next time at Noelle's Corner.

Stampin For Fun Divas

At Stampin For Fun Divas they're having some fun with a new challenge and that challenge is to make a card having anything to do with animals. So, without further ado, here is my card and I sure hope you go bananas!
Well, when I saw this monkey it just screamed birthday to me and the primary colors just really made it pop, so, I hope you liked it!!!

Well, over at Stampin For Fun Divas, They're having a color challenge, but it turns out that I don't have any of those colors so instead I decided to participate in their second challenge. To make any 3-D project; so it could be a box, jewelry or pretty much anything. When I saw this well, let's just say that I got an 'idea'. ENJOY!!!

Sorry about the picture turning out sideways, but I was looking in my closet, found a little metal tin and decided to decorate it. Then this is what I came up with, hope you liked it!

Stampin' For Fun Divas Sketch Challenge

Here's another card I made for the Divas sketch challenge. ENJOY!!!

Stampin' For Fun Divas Sketch Challenge

Over at Stampin' For Fun Divas they're having a sketch challenge. (As well as some blog candy) Well it's not really a sketch challenge, but anyway, all we had to do was come up with a Valentine's Day card and send it to an OWH shipper to send to the troops so I hope you like what I came up with.
